CARROT RIVER — Kaden Suski has been working hard for the Carrot River Outback Thunder and getting results.

TISDALE — The Beeland Co-op is working to reduce the amount of food thrown in the garbage by donating it to farmers.

HUMBOLDT — Water consumption rates in Humboldt will be going up 4.94 per cent for 2020. The unanimous decision, made at the Nov. 25 meeting, will also see a two per cent increase to water base rates, sewer base rates and the sewer flow rate.

Grey Cup champion head coach Mike O’Shea said the Winnipeg Blue Bombers played their best game of the year in the biggest game of the year. Hamilton Tiger-Cats coach Orlando Steinhauer said the same in a different way.

HUMBOLDT — The provincial government proclaimed new legislation that includes expanding the definition of disease in the Animal Health Act to include non-infectious threats.

CARROT RIVER — Ila Boehm was appointed to acting mayor for the Town of Carrot River, amid Bob Gagne’s resignation from the role. Boehm was appointed by unanimous resolution of council on Nov. 20.

Yesterday I had the chance to meet with some of the finalists for the CFL Shaw Player Awards. Cody Fajardo is the West nominee for Most Outstanding Player. During our conversation we talked about faith. We are both Catholics.

TISDALE — Tisdale resident Ellen Burgess received the Volunteer of the Year Lifetime Achievement award at the 39th annual Tisdale Appreciation Night.
