EAST CENTRAL — Enrolment numbers in the Horizon School Division are down this year compared to last year. In the 2019-20 school year, there are 6,343 students enrolled, compared to 6,459 in 2018-19, a decrease of 116.

NIPAWIN — Nipawin council voted to fund their share of new playground equipment for the Pinedale Park Playground in partnership with the Nipawin Kinettes and Kinsmen.

HUMBOLDT — For the first time in about a decade, Humboldt Collegiate’s senior girls’ volleyball team will be competing in the provincials. They will face nine other teams, including the Melfort and Nipawin high schools, in Fort Qu’Appelle Nov.

TISDALE — The Tisdale RCMP responded to three thefts under $5,000 in a two week period, including a garbage can theft. The garbage can was quickly located, with the can being abandoned on 97th Street.

HUMBOLDT — It will be a major weekend for hockey fans in Humboldt and beyond. The Third Annual Conexus Credit Union Humboldt Broncos Memorial Golf Tournament, to be held on Friday, Aug. 7 and Saturday, Aug.
