LANIGAN — An effort to replace a swimming pool in Lanigan stands to receive a $250,000 boost – if enough people vote for it online. The Lanigan and District Water Park Committee is one of four finalists in the Kraft Heinz Project Play contest.

HUMBOLDT — Every time a Humboldt Collegiate Mohawks football player holds a football at a home game, they’ll be honouring the memory of a fallen comrade.

EAST CENTRAL — Construction is underway for the intersection of Highway 335 and 35 including new rumble strips, shoulder widening and access to a roadside memorial.

HUMBOLDT — Thirteen Humboldt firefighters responded to a large car fire in the Northview Manor parking lot. The Humboldt Fire Department attended the scene at 1 a.m. on Oct. 11.

HUMBOLDT — Annual influenza vaccine clinics will start operating later this month. Humboldt residents with a valid health card can get their flu shot on Tuesday, Oct. 22 and Wedensday, Oct. 23 at the St. Augustine Parish Centre from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

HUMBOLDT — The results of a fundraising campaign done by Tim Hortons put a smile on the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation’s face. Humboldt residents bought 11,023 smile cookies from Sept. 16 to 22.

TISDALE — The Tisdale Red Apple has raised over $832 for their annual food drive, plus several boxes of non-perishable foods.

EAST CENTRAL — Many producers were able to return to the field last week and 55 per cent of the crop is now in the bin. The Oct. 1 to 7 crop report said the five-year (2014-18) average for this year of year is 82 per cent.

MUENSTER — Award-winning Saskatoon-based writer Candace Savage awed a St. Peter’s College crowd with readings from two new pieces of published work. St. Peter’s students and literary connoisseurs took in the Oct.

EAST CENTRAL — The mayors of Melfort, Nipawin and Tisdale gathered at a farm in the RM of Tisdale to sign a proclamation dictating October to be Agriculture Month.
