MELFORT — Premier Scott Moe called his funding for education “the largest investment in education in the history of Saskatchewan” while visiting Melfort for a cabinet meeting July 17.

MELFORT — Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe said his government is supporting the federal government in its effort to build the trade relationship with China.

WATROUS — The Watrous detachment of the RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance after a 2014 John Deere 569 Round Baler was stolen from a business in Watrous. The baler was stolen around 1:10 am on July 19.

EAST CENTRAL — A thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Humboldt, Melfort, Tisdale and Nipawin regions. Environment Canada issued the watch on July 18 at 12:47 pm.

MELFORT— A power line failure resulted in a tree fire in the alley behind 1st Avenue South. At 12:30 am on July 15, the Melfort Fire Department was dispatched to the tree fire.

Update On the second day of play, Humboldt's Mike Herperger shot a plus-one 73 and started day three in a tie for sixth place. Play resumes today, July 18, with a 7 am tee-off. Winners will be crowned later in the day.

MELFORT—The Melfort detachment of the RCMP is asking for assistance identifying a suspect connected to a stolen debit card in an incident that took place in Melfort on July 6.
