For Kaleb Dahlgren, a journey to become better than he was before he was injured includes a stop at his old team’s home arena. Dahlgren was a member of last year’s Humboldt Broncos squad and was on the team’s bus when it was hit by a semi-truck.

The alma mater of the assistant coach who was lost in the Humboldt Broncos crash played in the Elgar Petersen Arena as part of a tour honouring his memory.

TISDALE — Dr. Karen Sigfrid, veterinarian with the Northeast Veterinary Services found a bald eagle in her care after a resident found it injured north of Tisdale near the lagoon. “It was very weak and debilitated,” Sigfrid said. “I was puzzled.

MELFORT — Brenda Schmidt, Saskatchewan’s poet laureate, and William Robertson, an instructor at University of Saskatoon, came to the Melfort Public Library to speak about their poetry. Coming to Melfort for the Sept. 27 event was Robertson’s idea.

TISDALE — Police looking into the sudden death of a 36-year-old man at a farmyard near Tisdale say the evidence they’ve seen doesn’t point to any foul play involved in the death.

A collision between a vehicle and a combine south of Cudworth has left two dead and one injured. The vehicle, heading southbound, hit the combine at the intersection of Highway #2 and provincial grid road 767, which is approximately 6.

Travel along Highway #2 was restricted near Cudworth due to a serious collision. The collision took place at the intersection of Highway #2 and RM Grid 767. Wakaw RCMP said in a media release they were at the scene as of 5:45pm Sept. 27.

ROSE VALLEY, FOSSTON — Two break and enters in the Rose Valley area have local RCMP asking for the public’s help The first one happened at a home in Rose Valley between Aug. 19 and Sept. 1. Approximately $4,000 worth of tools were stolen.
