Many groups are getting together to put on the Wadena Town and Country Fair on Sept. 1-2 with two fun filled days of activities and events.

Everybody needs a friend. Someone to look up to in their time of need or just someone to have fun with from time to time.

TISDALE — Shell will be opening a gas station in Tisdale where Robin’s Donuts is located. The site used to be a Tempo gas station. The coffee shop will continue business as normal.

The Humboldt Collegiate Mohawks football team has returned to the gridiron looking to build upon a provincial semi-final appearance last season. The Mohawks officially kicked off their 2018 football season on Aug. 23 for the first day of camp.

Humboldt got its pride on with their third annual pride week from Aug. 21-26. The rainbow flag was raised on Aug. 21 at Humboldt city hall to launch a week of activities supporting the Humboldt LGBTQ+ community. Andrew Matheson MC’d the raising.

TISDALE — Local RCMP have caught 17 drivers not properly stopping at an intersection frequented heavily by children. The Tisdale RCMP saw 25 traffic violations from Aug. 15 to 30, with 17 of them being given out on Aug.

Humboldt city council adopted changes to their zoning bylaws during their Aug. 27 meeting. Humboldt’s zoning bylaws will now include cannabis retail stores under their discretionary use section.

The hockey season is quickly approaching, and with just 13 days until the Broncos kick off their season against the Nipawin Hawks, the club has announced single game tickets will be available for that game beginning tomorrow, Aug. 31 at 2:00 p.m.

TISDALE — Copper wire was stolen from a work site in Tisdale. The theft occurred on 100th Avenue between the night of Aug. 16 and morning of the 17th. The wiring was taken from a scrap pile.

MELFORT — Melfort was 25 years old when local citizens first formed the Melfort Public Library on the second floor of the historic post office. Sept. 22, 2018 will mark its 90th birthday. On Sept.
