MELFORT — The Melfort Mustangs have traded forward Drew Warkentine to the Lloydminster Bobcats in exchange for forward Jacob Tibbatts, defenceman Andrew Liwiski and future considerations. The trade was made the morning of June 12.

TISDALE — A direction has been set for a bylaw to restrict where cannabis retail stores could be located.

MELFORT — Discussions have already started about regulating the location of cannabis stores in Melfort.

NORTHEAST — The two Northeast SJHL teams are providing three players to become part of the Humboldt Broncos next season.

NIPAWIN — The operator of the retail cannabis store in Nipawin is a B.C.-based company that’s focused on producing and vending a high-end product. GreenTec Holdings will grow cannabis in indoor facilities in B.C. and Alberta.

MELFORT — The Northeast’s largest car show is back this year – under new management. The Melfort Business Revitalization Corporation will host this year’s XFM 29th Annual Show and Shine June 15.

HUDSON BAY — A property just north of Hudson Bay was hit by vandals. Several vehicles parked in a yard along with other items such as cabinets and glass windows were smashed and damaged. The crime would have occurred between 6 p.m June 5 and 9 a.m.

Last week I touched on the Ontario election and the need for governments across each of Canada’s provinces as well as federally to do a better job of observing and counting votes cast for “no one”.

We all need a break from time to time. The longer I am in the work force, the more I hold this to be true. To those of you who love your jobs enough to not be working them, I salute you.

With high school sports into its final provincial event of the year, Horizon Central students made sure to go out with a bang as they helped Horizon claim 3rd in the district points race, and first in points per 1,000 students.
