Broncos kick into higher gear in win over Ice Wolves After a slow start the Humboldt Broncos got their legs under them and were able to run away with a 7-3 win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action from La Ronge.

The Humboldt Vintage Club and the Naicam Snowblasters combined to do what they do best with the vintage and snowmachines at the second Vintage Snow Rally in Humboldt on Feb. 25.

The province’s 28 divisions all have different, non-connected systems to keep track of student data. A new system aims to bring them together and with the data bind them.

The Melfort Mustangs know their playoff fate. The Mustangs’ chase for a division title officially ended Feb. 27 when the Nipawin Hawks beat the Kindersley Klippers 4-1, clinching the Sherwood division title for the Hawks.

For the first time in 17 years, the Nipawin Hawks are division champions. The Hawks put the finishing touches on their first division title since 1999-2000 with a 4-1 win over the Kindersley Klippers at home.

A process to expand Gronlid Central School’s catchment area east has begun. The expansion uses the Carrot River as its south boundary all the way to Highway #35, missing Armley and Ridgedale.
