From the Tisdale Recorder Files: Aug. 27, 1997

It was a dark time for the Tisdale Motor Speedway, as it was their first-ever night race. Bright lights from Tisdale Rentals, placed on stands from Chupa Excavating, illuminated the track for the Aug. 19 race.

Humboldt was made a little sweeter with the arrival of the Crimson String Quartet on Aug. 17 for their evening of musical brilliance.

An effort to improve the crosswalk that goes over the highway that runs through the middle of Carrot River is seeing progress.

For the second year in a row, the Humboldt LGBTQ+ community has brought Pride Week to Humboldt with a Diversity mass on Aug. 20 and the official flag raising on Aug. 21.

After a long hockey season, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Nipawin Hawks got the opportunity to enjoy the summer as they turned their attention to the start of the new hockey season.

It was a chance to fill your stomach, learn about hoop dancing and re-live the old tradition of cruising down the street. Carrot River’s third annual Flavours of the Outback was held at that community’s town square Aug. 18.

The Humboldt Vintage Club held another successful Vintage Days with two days of events on Aug. 19-20.

It was a weekend for those that had left Hudson Bay over the years to return and meet to relive old memories.

It was a busy weekend for members of the Humboldt Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) as they worked on another successful Streetfest.
