With the grand reopening of a Melfort gas station by its new owners, the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation, comes hopes of new opportunities and new partnerships for the band.

It was another busy year for the Humboldt Summer Sizzler with the weekend being full of activities for everyone. The four day event kicked off with the Sizzler Concert on June 14.

Students will soon be off on their summer holidays; apologies to parents, congratulations teachers. And thanks to the Reid-Thompson Public Library and the TD Summer Reading Club, they will be continuing to read during their summer.

It has been a relationship that has been going strong for 25 years.

The 2007-2008 Humboldt Broncos left a mark on the Canadian Junior A hockey world and on June 24 they will leave their mark in the Humboldt and District Sports Hall of Fame as the latest team inductees.

It is time for silly season in the National Hockey League. The second half of the month of June and the early part of July is always crazy in the NHL but with the Vegas Golden Knights joining the fray the craziness will only increase.

I have started biking again after years of not having an actual having a bike. It was tough getting comfortable biking in the city since I grew up on the farm and did not have to deal with so much traffic.

The Nipawin Hawks will begin the next season with a bang, playing their first two games against their rival, the Melfort Mustangs. “It’s going to be nice for the communities to see each team right away,” said Doug Johnson , the team’s head coach.

KUNAMAN: Wilfred R. February 3, 1921 – June 5, 2017 The death of Mr. Wilfred “Wilf” R. Kunaman of St. Mary’s Villa, Humboldt, SK, occurred at his residence in the early morning of Monday, June 5, 2017. He was 96 years of age.
