RENNEBERG: Isabella The peaceful death of Mrs. Isabella Renneberg (nee Mezzarobba), 82 years, of Humboldt and formerly of Cudworth, occurred on Monday, August 1, 2016.

NOVECOSKY: George Martin May 11, 1937 – July 30, 2016 The death of George Novecosky of Humboldt, SK ( and formerly of Burr, SK) occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on July 30, 2016. He was 79 years of age.

DYOK: Linda (DeSchryver) Linda (nee DeSchryver) Dyok passed away on July 15, 2016, at her home in New Westminster, BC, after a lengthy battle with diabetes.

STRUEBY: Elmer It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Elmer Strueby from Nipawin, Saskatchewan on July 29, 2016. He has gone to his eternal home in heaven after a lengthy struggle with cancer.

HERGOTT: Virginia Elizabeth August 25, 1936 – July 29, 2016 The death of Virginia (nee Feltin) Hergott of Watrous District Health Complex, Watrous SK (and formerly of Bruno SK) occurred at the Watrous District Health Complex on Friday, July 29, 2016.

Calico gave donors a sneak peak of their new building. On Jul. 26 Humboldt donors were invited to preview the 10,000 square feet, unfinished Calico building at their new location on 4th Ave. to get an update on the buildings progress.

Jul. 27, 1996 was a historic day for the Humboldt Uniplex. That was the day that the Humboldt Aquatic Centre opened its doors for the first time. The Centre celebrated this achievement with free swimming, a history display, and cupcakes on Jul. 27.

The city is working hard to fix the lagoon odour issue. The 2016 budget had money set aside to address the odour issue, including a lagoon assessment done by engineering firm, Catterall and Wright.

After six days of competition the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games have come to an end. The games ran from Jul. 24 to Jul. 30 in Estevan with athletes from across the province competing in 13 different sports.

With the loss in the provincial championship game the Humboldt Midget AA Dodgers season came to a close and what a season it was.
