SZAUTNER: Ken The peaceful death of Mr. Ken Szautner, 74 years, of Humboldt occurred on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 surrounded by his family. Ken was born on March 17, 1942 to Gesa and Pearl (nee Boehm) Szautner in Humboldt.

The Prairie Patchworkers Quilt Guild Quilt Show on Apr. 15-16 showed off the many unique quilts made from local quilters.

Original Humboldt hosted an information session on Apr. 14 at the Humboldt & District Museum. The event gave the Original Humboldt committee an opportunity to hear about what happened in 2015 and what is planned for the coming year.

It was a night of fashion for the Humboldt and District Community Services with their Spring Fashion Show Fundraiser on Apr. 13 at the Bella Vista. Cottage Boutique brought 94 outfits for the 150 guests to see.

The Uniplex was a sea of tapped, jazzed, and balletted feet and flowing costumes as 800 dancers from 19 studios all across the province grooved their way across the On Stage Dance Festival stage.

Humboldt received an injection of country and western flair as the Sons of the Pioneers brought their award winning show to St. Augustine Church on Apr.

Humboldt is in the musical season in April with the Annual Humboldt and District Music Festival kicking off with the band, string, and guitar competitions Apr. 11-12.

I usually do not get too excited about the National Basketball Association but the last week has been a week to get excited about. First off you have the Toronto Raptors.

Watching the On Stage Dance Festival in Humboldt this weekend, it was very encouraging to see all the male dancers.

THIEMANN: Gilbert August April 9, 1947 – April 4, 2016 The sudden and unexpected death of Mr. Gilbert August Thiemann of St. Gregor, SK, occurred at his residence on Monday, April 4, 2016. He was 68 years of age.
