Since they challenged the Quebec government a year ago, the Saskatchewan government has finally won the appeal that will allow the sale and marketing of vegetable oil-based dairy products in the French-speaking province.

It almost feels like the end of an era. No more begging and scraping for quarters when you’re out with friends and have to call home. No more using payphones to make crank phone calls.

It’s not hard to see that women from the Prairies differ from women in places like Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, etc. They’re urban, whereas women in Saskatchewan are rural. It’s for them that the province celebrated March as Rural Women’s Month.

The Saskatchewan government recently announced a ban on tanning beds for minors, which will take effect this fall. We’re the last province in the country to enact such a ban. About time. Tanning beds are in no way healthy. This is just a fact.
