The Humboldt Roller Derby league kicked off their first practice of the season on Sunday at the curling rink and though members were few, emotions were still optimistic.

Once again, the Humboldt & District Gallery was packed on March 25 as people piled in to see the next Performer’s Café with Brian Grest. Despite Grest’s regular appearances with his band, 40 oz.

March was National Kidney Awareness month, and April 19 - 26 2015 is National Organ Donor and Tissue Awareness Week. As of March 2014 in Saskatchewan, 1184 people are suffering with kidney disease and 827 are on dialysis.

A year ago, the government of Saskatchewan made a big decision to allow strip clubs in the province.

People talk without really thinking all the time. The problem with saying factually incorrect or ignorant things in a public forum is that the Internet does not forget. The Holy Grail for ignorant things online is, of course, Fox News.

Once again, the young pirates of Humboldt brought the city another barrel of laughs at the March 24 St. Augustine production of Blackboot’s Lost Loot.

On March 24, Humboldt became part of a unique western Canada brainstorm in which a team of researchers have been traveling town to town to find out what community needs aren’t being met, what solutions are there, and if a co-operative could fix it.

It’s been in Humboldt for eight years, and now staff at the Humboldt and district SPCA is hoping to eventually move into a new, bigger space.
