It was a warm sunny day Sept. 9 when 40 seniors registered for the Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association 55+ games day at the senior centre in St. Walburg.

Arriving visitors were greeted and registered by Gladys Carnell, Inge Knopf and Donna Hall. Coffee and muffins were available for those who came from a distance. Visitors were form Rosetown, Unity, Cut Knife, Neilburg, Hafford, Radisson, Lloydminster, Frenchman Butte, Maidstone, Turtleford and St. Walburg.

Cribbage and bowling were played in the morning, followed by a cold plate luncheon. Louis Getz entertained with songs accompanied by his guitar during lunch. He played old songs familiar to seniors and we could sing along.

The following are the results of games played.

Bowling - Orville Ends, Cut Knife; Ethel Gibson, Cut Knife; Faye Brett, St. Walburg.

Cribbage - Bill Sawyshyn, Hafford; Dorothy Forbes, St. Walburg; John Coid, Unity.

Bocce ball - Donna Hall, St. Walburg; Doris Rendle, St. Walburg.

Lasso golf (played in pairs) - Harold Bullock and Morris Coulthard, Maidstone; Noelle Coulthard and Mona Bullock, Maidstone; Orville Ends and partner of Cut Knife.

Kaiser - Ted and Peggy Bull, St. Walbrug; John Coid and Dorothy Forbes, Unity; Irene Ducherer and Rose Leitheiser, Neilburg.

Scrabble - Agnes Hoffman, Turtleford; Louis Cochran, Radisson; Denise Newton, Maidstone.

The names of all present were drawn and over 40 door prizes were given away. Donna Hall, as MC, gave the blessing prior to lunch and thanked all those who attended and all those who helped to make the fun games day a success.

Afternoon lunch was served before out of town visitors started their journey home. My card partner, Vera Hintz, and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you St. Walburg seniors for hosting the event.
