Until Sept. 3, the Chapel Gallery in North Battleford is hosting a digital photograph and video presentation entitled Exploring North Battleford at 100. A reception Thursday, Aug.

Unity has hit a top placing once again. The community submitted a nomination, including the need for funding for the new swimming pool, for the Richardson Pioneer Rider Nation Community Celebration.

Some swathing is being done especially as one travels a little south. The hot days are ripening crops quickly and for some haying is still in progress. Visiting in the district over the weekend were Enid (Tasker) Christianson of Ponoka, Alta.

A 90th birthday tea was held for Ann Kohut of Borden, Aug.

The last part of August has residents busy with garden processing, harvest preparation or lingering in the last few weeks of summer. School staff returned to school Aug. 26 and students will join them in the hallways Sept. 3.

At the outset, I must give credit to Harry Dekker's eldest son, David, for providing much of the story of his father and CJNB Radio. It must be true that no one knows a father like a son. Harry G.

The September long weekend is coming up. That means the kids are going back to school and community clubs and agencies will be starting up their regular events over the next several weeks.

Dorothy Kissick has had a busy week. She has been to Lloydminster twice and had Kim and two children and daughter Vicki to visit her. Trina and Ed Hoffman of Strasbourg brought their daughter Jasmine to stay with grandma Colleen Koski for a while.

The RM of Paynton No. 470 will be celebrating it's centennial this year and will be holding a dinner and dance Aug. 24. Paynton gym will be host to the event which starts at 4:30 p.m. for cocktails followed by a catered supper at 6 p.m.

The fifth annual Hafford Summer Sizzle was once again a success due to the efforts of the organizing committee and many volunteers. The day began with a pancake breakfast followed by a parade.
