School got back underway with a general assembly during the second class of the day, Sept. 4, where the SRC outlined their plans for the school activities this year. New staff and students were welcomed with a game for the new staff.

Culture Days, a collaborative, coast-to-coast volunteer movement to raise the awareness accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the Arts and Cultural Life of their communities, is fast approaching.

I have no words to describe the beautiful day. There was not a cloud in the sky and the sounds of music that echoed through the crowds at the event held at the Leipzig Serenity Retreat Sept. 8 were beautiful.

The main area of the Borden School gym is temporarily closed while the roof and ceiling are being redone. There is no structural damage and the gym is not condemned as the rumour that is circulating around says.

Beautiful weather last weekend paved the way to more harvest progress, as can be seen by multiple machines moving in fields, grain trucks on our highways and grain terminals busy with unloading units.

With the John Paul II Crusader's second season of football approaching, students and staff at John Paul II Collegiate are fired up and ready to cheer! This season, the football team is allowing Grade 8 players to join the program.

Friends and family joined Bert Carpentier to celebrate his 75th birthday. Here's a little poem for you as you a special friend to many Maymont residents.

Here we are into September. Where has our summer gone? But it has been a lovely summer. Never has the grass been greener or the flowers more beautiful. A rose bush in front of our Tower has been blooming for the second time and is still as pretty.

With the 2012-13 school year beginning, John Paul II's student representative council has planned a number of activities to keep the students and staff busy. The first event of the school year was the annual school picture day.

It's been a couple of months now since I sat down to put some words to print.
