Audrey Fineday is a local First Nations artist taking part in the Creative Partnerships program through the Chapel Gallery. She is a descendant of Little Poplar and Fineday and a proud member of the Battle River Cree.

She creates pieces combining found objects and traditional media like acrylics and her heritage is a prime source of inspiration for her work. She uses vibrant colours and unexpected objects to create three-dimensional pieces that give the viewer a multi-layered perspective. A collection of her work was exhibited in the Window Gallery at the Chapel Gallery in 2008.

Audrey has been active with this group of artists. Many new pieces have been created over the last year and each piece has a story that relates to her personal experience. She has worked with school students and other groups to encourage and guide their own art development. She is currently working on a book that will intertwine her art with family history and poetry. She plans to distribute the book to schools and libraries.
