Spring is here, the trees have leaves and the grass is growing, but most of allthe garbage is blowing! The Paynton Volunteer Fire Dept will be out on the highway from the east entrance of Paynton to the east entrance of Delmas this long weekend. Along with any and all volunteers who would like to pitch in and either cook, pick garbage, drive shuttle vehicles or pick up the full garbage bags. There is still room for help if you would like. Call 895-4225 or come to the hall at 9a.m. from May 20 - 22. Refreshments and snacks throughout the day along withsupper will be providedevery day.
Paynton volunteer firefighters would also like to send a huge thank you out to Charlie and Debbie Chisholm of Reliance SafetyEquipment for their generous donation of servicing and fire extinguishersat the Family Day event in Paynton. Without help from people like these,the firedepartment would have a hard time raising money for much needed equipment.
The Village of Paynton is planning a village clean-up day in the near future. Stay posted to find out when, not that you have to wait. If you are out and about, no one will complain if you pitch in and pick up a little litter.
Paynton Library is hosting the Paynton Spring Craft and Bake sale this year. Vendors selling their wares such as art, baking,books, bread, crafts, ceramics and much more will be at the Paynton Gym June 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To sign up call 895-4225. Lunch will be served by the library ladies and all proceeds go to the Paynton Library.
