Holiday social schedules ramping up

Waseca village office will be closed between Christmas and New Years.

Mark Sutherland and Brenna Banks returned Dec. 4 from three months spent on the Big Island (Hawaii) in Hawaii. It is one of the most interesting islands in the Hawaiian group. It was formed by five volcanoes. Mark and Brenna stayed in the city of Hilo which is the island's capital city and chief port. They spent their time hiking, swimming and sightseeing.

As part of their fund-raising the Waseca rink committee are sponsoring a tea and bake sale to be held in Waseca Community Center Saturday, Dec. 10.

Members of Waseca Community Centre Committee enjoyed Maidstone's Santa Claus Day. They sponsored a table where Waseca t-shirts, post cards, cook books and DVDs were sold.

Ethel Giesbrecht of Drayton Valley, Alta. is returning home today after spending a week with her sister Evelyn Janus.
