It's blossom time

It's blossom time here! Saskatoon, chokecherry, pincherry and other wild shrubs are in bloom. Those who have apple, crabapple and other fruit trees in their yards will be enjoying the blossoms. Let's hope we remain frost free.

Purple violets have been blooming profusely in my yard. I understand they are being seen everywhere. They are beautiful little flowers and grow low enough in the grass so the lawn mower does not harm them.

Christine Pike spent part of Sunday visiting with her cousin Marion White at Cut Knife. While there they toured the village, enjoying the many blooming trees, neat yards and the park.

Our condolences to Ina Corker and other family members on the death of her son, Gary. Gary was a Forest Bank resident, a brother for Glenda, born into Ralph and Ian Corker, who farmed in Forest Bank at the time of his birth. Gary attended Forest Bank School during the 1960s and went on to high school in Maidstone. He worked at various jobs following high school. At the time of his death Gary was living in Lloydminster.
