St. Walburg Royal Purple met Easter Monday.

Twenty-two members signed the register for the meeting chaired by associate Royal Lady Georgina Schneider.

The finance committee had audited the books, which were found in good order. The same committee also prepared and presented the budget for 2012-13.

The annual Ladies' Night Out is May 5. Entertainment lined up is the Ultimate Game Show, as well as casino games. The menu will be salads with a lunch later on. Tickets for a diamond ring valued at over $1,200 are on sale and can be bought from any Royal Purple member. The evening tickets are also on sale. These make great gifts for those "hard to by for," while at the same time help Royal Purple give back to the community.

St. Walburg lodge hosts the district meeting April 22. Provincial president Colleen Macdonald, Supreme Loyal Lady Margaret Brown and District Deputy Audrey Griffith will honour the local members with their presence.

Nomination committee members Delores Volk and Georgina Schneider presented names for a new slate of officers for the ensuing year. They will be installed at the May meeting.

Speedy recovery wishes go out to Virginia Boser, Jenny Looshorn and Rosemarie Veenstra. Jean Steinacher and Rosalie Steinacher celebrate April birthdays.

Several members will be taking training in the use of the defibrillator situated in the hall.

Congratulations to Betty Malanchuk for 50 years of service to the Royal Purple, Melva Madden for 20 years and Peggy Bull for five years.

April is Royal Purple's month to deliver meals on wheels. Volunteers are in place for delivering.

The lodge extends a thank you to Sandra Bannerman for donating two warmers for use in catering.

Any ladies interested in joining the group, especially those new to the community, are invited to check Royal Purple out. It is a great way to get to know people and get involved as well as help Royal Purple grow.

Meetings are held monthly with the exception of July and August.
