Simple Country is the name of a newly available CD that will see proceeds directed to the Battlefords Empty Stocking Fund.

Cox was coaxed into the project by loyal fans, and he says his foray into the recording world has been a positive one.

"This is a first for me", Cox says.

"Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would be recorded, and to say the least, it has been an awesome experience".

Cox has been involved in several fundraising projects in the Battlefords, and has decided to use this recording as another tool to raise money to benefit children at Christmas.

"The main reason I decided to record was to use the sales from this CD and give to the Empty Stocking Fund", Cox says.

Cox is also the person responsible for, and the creator of, the Cowboy Christmas Parade. The fourth annual parade is scheduled for Nov. 12.

"I believe in Christmas, and I believe children should have as happy at Christmas as possible. That's why I do what I do", Cox says.

Cox's CD should be available for purchase around Sept. 16. Copies will be available at the Gold Eagle Gas Bar, Battleford Furniture, and Doug's Paint Shop. Other places will be named later. Cox can also be reached at simplecountry@hotmail.com, and 937-4455.

Fans can also join theRay Cox Simple County Fan Club on Facebook.

"I hope everyone will support this latest project of mine so we can help the children as best we can", Cox says.

Cox expresses appreciation to those who have supported his project, both here in the Battlefords and the United States. Cox was recorded at M-Dawg Music in Battleford.

"I would like to say thanks to Mitch for his knowledge, patience, and supplying some awesome music and vocal assistance."
