HUMBOLDT — The shaving of a teacher’s beard raised almost $6,100 for the St. Dominic School playground project. Michael Kresak said the idea came right before the school’s Telemiracle fundraiser in the spring.

HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt and Area Refugee Coalition is raising money to sponsor a family from Iran.

NIPAWIN — Youth from Wagner and Central Park Elementary experienced workshops on Indigenous culture at the Oasis Centre for National Indigenous Peoples Day.

TISDALE — This year’s Rockin’ the Square street fair is expected to be the largest yet, with a bouncy obstacle course for teenagers and adults, as well as a reptile exhibit. The street fair will have three bouncy inflatable activities.

The North Battleford Western Development Museum had another busy work bee. They are still working on antique gas stationary engines and tractors getting ready for Those Were The Days in August.

NIPAWIN — Jim Grandfield is 96 years of age and living in Nipawin, but if you read his enlistment papers from the Second World War, he would now be 98.
