The St. Walburg Royal Purple December meeting brought out 31 members. The evening began at 6:30 p.m. with a potluck feast, followed by the regular monthly meeting and Christmas party. Santa’s elves were present to hand out gifts.

As some of my readers will know at the end of 2014, Dec. 31, I will be retiring from Migneault Greenwood where I have worked for the last five years. Over the years I have worked with many great businesses and have made many good friends.

t all began in 1988 – when Ramesh Rattan of Cheetam and Rattan Architects Inc., had the idea of developing a time capsule to commemorate North Battleford’s 75th anniversary.

At a concert celebrating the 65 th anniversary of the North Battleford City Kinsmen Band, the daughter of the founding bandmaster said her father had left”a wonderful legacy” and she hoped the band would enjoy many more anniversaries.

“North Battleford has had a band of its own since pioneer days, but it took the late Robbie Robinson to turn the band into a youth organization and set the foundation for it to become known all across Canada.

I guess it doesn’t achieve much to lament the commercial / economic hi-jacking of this season upon us.
