H. Hardcastle School has sent forth another crop of young adults into the world. The festivities began June 25 with an interdenominational church service held at the Full Gospel Assembly in Edam.

This week, the Summer School for the Solo Voice is underway in North Battleford. It's a unique summer school that provides not only education but performance opportunities for participants as well as recitals open to the public.

The last dismissal bell has run, the cap and gowns are put away and the trailers are out of hibernation and on the road. School is out, graduation is over and summer is on.

Dr. Larry Stoyko, who was the physician at the Borden Union Hospital for a few years, passed away June 1 at Didsbury, Alta., at the age of 61. Dr. Stoyko is survived by his wife Olga, daughters Carrie and Gillian, their spouses and three grandsons.

This will be the final news report of this school year. MCS staff hope you enjoyed reading them and hearing about some of the happenings at Maymont Central School. Summer has arrived and the students are cleaning out their desks.

Hi There! Well, I don't think most of us mind seeing the last of June this year. It had been a very dreary and rainy month. So hopefully July will be nice and sunny.

We haven't had much thunder yet this summer, but Sunday we had a number of thundershowers. There was still plenty of moisture from last week's rains so today's showers just slowed down the weeding process in gardens.

An artists' reception at the Chapel Gallery in North Battleford Tuesday, June 24, celebrated the coming together of two exhibits meant to reconcile the history shared by First Nations and non-First Nations Canadians.

Maymont Memorial Hall held a garage sale June 21. Between rain and a power outage, it turned out to be a pretty good day. Thanks to everyone who helped, booked tables and donated to this event.
