Sympathy to the Ross family on the recent passing of Edwin Ross of North Battleford. Edwin was born and raised in the Spinney Hill area, attended Spinney Hill School, later to marry Margaret Laventure of Wilson Lake area.

And it rains and it rains! Although reports say the southwest is dry, the northwest is anything but dry. The main topic of conversation lately is the unending cool wet weather.

Kevin Newton and his daughter Kianna of Choiceland were here on the weekend to visit with Denise Newton. A number of the apartment ladies enjoyed the Father's Day tea at the Drop In on Friday.

Maymont had a visit at the seniors' center June 17 from Ted Turner, author of Beyond The Farm Gate. Liz Clayton, Valerie Gray, June Rogers and Laura Spence made this visit possible. There were about 20 people who attended.

Seven members of the Battlefords Art Club had a delightful day touring Saskatoon's Art Trek 2014 June 14. It was an inspiring tour and enjoyable to see so many talented exhibitors, painting in all media, sculpture, and wood and metal carving.

The Neilburg United Church celebrated their 60th anniversary May 26.During the service past ministers Ted Haas, Ken Flamghan and Harold Martin shared memories of their time in Neilburg. An ensemble that included Gracie Haas preformed a few pieces.
