Some "spring like" weather the last few days has been enjoyed by all. Monday the temperature rose to 7 C, with sunshine. Rain or snow had been forecast, but that didn't materialize Monday. My Feb.

I'm home after a two-month holiday in Prince George, B.C. It was an enjoyable time spent with my daughter and her family. The weather there was a lot warmer than here. While I was away one of our apartment members, Arnold Stewart, passed away.

Over the next few weeks I have introduced five adjudicators for this year's Kiwanis Battlefords Music Festival- band adjudicator Greg McLean, strings adjudicator Rudolf Sternadel, musical theatre adjudicator Kevin Powers, vocal adjudicator Garry Gabl

Hi there! Well, there is no doubt that March came in like a lion and we left a very frigid February behind, thank goodness.

Radisson Royal Purple members Linda Yuskiw and Lorraine Olinyk were at Borden School March 4 to present the awards from the poster contest on Healthy Choices/Addictions Awareness.

Beware the Ides of March! Seriously people, I think we are more afraid of Old Man Winter than any old folklore Shakespeare came up with. Come to the lower hall of Unity United Church for the St. Patrick's Day tea and bake sale March 15, 2 p.m.

The Maymont Memorial Hall annual meeting will be held March 19 at 7:30 p.m. If you would like to be on the hall committee or one of the executive members, that would be the night to be there. Everyone is welcome.

These days, one cannot imagine the town of Battleford without Gordon Yarde. He has been active in civic politics as a member of town council for 18 years, and his community involvement goes back even longer to the 1970s.

Cards were played Feb. 24 at the Maidstone Drop In Centre with Dorothy Schwartz hosting and supplying lunch. High score went to Dorothy Schwartz and low went to Dorothy Kissick. It was a cold day at -40 C with the wind chill. Bingo was played Feb.

With a most beautiful day presented, there were approximately one dozen Battlefords Art Club members gathered to work in different media at the Don Ross Centre Tuesday.
