Dianne Gryba and JoAnne Kasper brought their joint gift of music to the Dekker Centre Sunday Feb. 9 at the concert, Keys and Chorales - Les Quatre Mains, featuring the Kamala Youth Choir and the Battlefords Children's Preparatory Choir.

The Archives Week presentation by the City of North Battleford Historic Archives took place Feb. 6 at the Frontier Mall from noon to 5 p.m. and Feb. 7 at the Co-op Mall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The February meeting of Rivers' Edge Quilt Guild was held Feb. 7 with 19 members attending. President Carol was away basking in sunshine so past president Irene Greer was in the chair.

Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation Monthly Lottery tickets will be available starting Tuesday at the BUHF office. Lottery tickets are $104 each, with only 1,200 being sold.

Hockey teams have finished their regular season and now are involved in playoffs. Mark and Morgan Thomarat have been playing with the Maidstone senior Jets. Brody McFadyen has been playing in minor hockey.

A drop-in flu clinic was held at the Manitou Health Centre during the late afternoon and evening of Thursday, Jan. 30, providing an opportunity for those local residents who had not yet been immunized to obtain their protection from the flu virus.

When I woke up this morning, the weather channel said it was -42C with the wind chill. The buses were not able to run due to the extreme wind chill.

When is this deep freeze going to end? Enough already, I'd say! It was a little quieter around the village this past week, so there isn't that much that I've heard, to report.

The Battlefords Art Club members are fortunate to rent such a bright, sunny room at the Don Ross Centre. It inspires us to create acrylic, watercolour, drawings and zentangle (meditative doodling).

ABI, if you haven't heard of the group, their full name is Acquired Brain Injury Association. The New Beginnings chapter in our area is receiving support from Paynton entrepreneurs Doris Frost with partner in life and now business Dave Florizone.
