The Living Sky School Division held its Student Hall of Fame event June 13, with more than 1,000 people witnessing the induction of 487 high school students from across the division.

Nancy Nash, a former resident of North Battleford who has gone on to find fame and a multi-faceted future, has gifted the city with a song she's written in honour of the city's centennial.

"One of the many things my grandmother taught me was not to discriminate against any race or religion, because, she told me, you don't know who your child is going to be, you don't know who your grandchild is going to be.

The Edam West 4-H Club held their Achievement Day the evening of May 31 at the Edam Community Centre. The event started with members stalling their calves at 3 p.m. and their judging demonstration and scorecards at 4:30 p.m.

Speaking at this year's Living Sky School Division Student Hall of Fame Celebration, Minister of Education Russ Marchuk said the event is a testament to Living Sky's commitment to youth and to community.

June 10 was the last St. Walburg Royal Purple meeting before the summer break. This was also Decoration Day, but due to a wet, dreary day, members were unable to visit the graves of departed Royal Purple members.

The Borden Friendship Club hosted seniors from Radisson and Maymont at their annual supper and program June 11, with 70 guests enjoying the great meal catered by Dianne and Bernice.

June 22 is drawing near and we're getting excited for our potluck and jam session at the Maymont Hall. Doors open at 4 p.m.; supper is at 6 p.m. Come rock and roll before supper and then again after supper.

There were 32 competitors from eight different clubs, who came from all over the northwest region to attend the Battlefords regional show June 9. Our judge for the day was Sonja Wilkenson from Vermilion, Alta.

School is winding down and Awards Day for students in Grades 7 through 12 at Neilburg Composite School was held June 19, in the afternoon. Some awards had a number of students nominated to receive that honour.
