Radisson's centennial is being celebrated Aug. 9, 10 and 11. Registration, lunch, get acquainted cocktails and a banquet take place in the curling rink from 1 - 8 p.m. Aug. 9. There are close to 600 registered for the supper. Then from 8 p.m. - 12 a.

Last year's noticeable increase of extreme summer weather, including 10 days of tornado activity and funnel clouds in addition to torrential rains, had everyone wondering what was in store for this year.

The Battlefords and Area Horticultural Society finished their spring meetings with planning for the annual horticulture show. The houseplant and lily sale and bake table were successful, and the bedding and perennial plant sale did well.

A small group of Battlefords Art Club members met again at the Don Ross Centre Tuesday to spring their talents into great pieces of art.

The Eagle Hills Multiple 4H Club enjoyed a great, fun-filled year. Paul Mitchell is the club leader as well as a project leader along with Colleen Gabruch, Karen Power and Debbie Flegel.

It's the long weekend, people. That can mean one of two things: where the heck did the first part of summer go so quickly or let's get out and enjoy another long weekend this summer.

Often former residents of the area come to visit their neighbours or the place they lived while here. If they haven't been back for a number of years they see many changes even in a small place like Waseca.

The Battlefords Agricultural Society's Northwest Territorial Days is fondly known as "the fair" to most, the "exhibition" to some and, to the uninitiated or new to town, "the ex." The 126th annual fair begins with the parade on Monday, Aug. 12.
