A spiritually uplifting, festive celebration occurred in St. Walburg June 23. Father Dan Yasinski, a newly ordained Roman Catholic priest celebrated his first mass in St. Walburg at 11 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish Church.

Our sympathy to Crystal Nelson and family on the death of her mother, Mrs. Atlfield, a former Waseca resident. The funeral as held on the weekend.

The weather for the first Horse Hill Music Jamboree was very co-operative. The festivities began Saturday morning, June 29, with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. on the grounds. The music started around 10 a.m.

Summer is enjoyable when the sun is out but it also brings those severe thunderstorm warnings and watches. I saw one tweet that aptly stated, "It seems every weather event nowadays is an extreme weather event".

Local team attends old timers' tourney

After a few days of hot weather we have been experiencing cooler temperatures and cool winds. Those who do haying have had fine weather for that job. Maureen Bexson has been spending a few days with her sister Christine Pike.

Show attracts 150 art lovers

Last weekend marked a successful and enjoyable 7th annual Battlefords Art Club show and sale at the Meota Sailing Club. Our thanks to the ore than 150 art lovers who came to browse and buy cards and paintings.
