It’s springtime again, which means music students from around the region are coming to Humboldt to participate in the 78th annual music festival.

Another major No.1-country act is coming to the Battlefords and to Gold Eagle Casino at the end of the month.

One of Saskatoon's hottest bands, the Saskatoon Legendary Rhythm and Blues Revue, will be playing at the Sloan Auditorium in North Battleford May 2.

It’s being billed as a “very, very, very, very funny night.” It should prove true with the Best of the Winnipeg Comedy Festival entertaining on the Gordon Tootoosis stage and other live performance artists set up throughout the building.

Battlefords Community Players have begun the performance of the last play of the 2014-15 season. Trad had its premiere night Tuesday and will be playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts.

Dancers from around the province will be congregating on Humboldt to compete in the annual OnStage Dance Festival, which will take place at the Uniplex from April 23 to 26.

Local country singer Ray Whitton has said his latest album will be his last. “It’s such an emotional roller coaster that I don’t know if I could continuously put myself through that,” he said.
