There are 60 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 22, bringing the total to 1,030 cases. The new cases are located in the South (50), Saskatoon (4), Central (3), Far North (2) and North (1) regions.

EAST CENTRAL — A heat warning has been issued for the Tisdale, Melfort and Nipawin area. “Humidex values reaching 39 are expected,” said Environment Canada in its warning, issued 4 a.m. July 22.

The City of North Battleford has confirmed they are preparing for a new McDonald's restaurant location coming to 100th Street. The news comes after the city announced work was commencing at the 100th Street intersection by A&W.

As the City of North Battleford continues its process to annex land around the Saskatchewan Hospital area, they have now moved forward with an agreement with the rural municipality for services in the area.

The province has confirmed that several Battleford projects have been approved for funding under the provincial Municipal Economic Enhancement Program.

MELFORT — Two businesses on Melfort’s Saskatchewan Drive were broken into and had several items stolen. Melfort RCMP said the crimes took place between 6 p.m. on July 8 and 8 a.m. on July 9.
