TISDALE — According to Kim Stonehouse, crops extension specialist with the Tisdale office at the Ministry of Agriculture, it’s possible Tisdale’s brief hailstorm on July 2 had an impact on local crops.

HUMBOLDT — The city is still assessing the effects from a recent rainstorm and looking at applying to a program that will help residents pay for any damage. “We're still trying to get numbers from people,” said Rob Muench, Humboldt’s mayor.

Earlier this year Onion Lake Cree Nation (OLCN) was under a state of emergency after a string of gang-related violence and drug activity. Now, Onion Lake RCMP and Onion Lake Cree Nation joined forces to release gang awareness prevention resources.

Ten new cases reported Thursday

CARROT RIVER — Construction on the reverse osmosis upgrades to the Town of Carrot River water treatment plant is expected to begin by the beginning of August.

The province made a major announcement Thursday that work will begin immediately on a massive irrigation project at Lake Diefenbaker.
