To no one’s surprise the opposition New Democrats have blasted Monday’s provincial budget, dismissing it as a “placeholder pre-election budget that presents no recovery plan” in a statement.

The province released their full budget on Monday which showed a $1.9 billion addition to the debt total that can be attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are 18 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan to report on June 15, 2020, bringing the provincial total to 683. Thirteen of the new cases are in the Far North.

As expected Saskatchewan will run a large deficit this coming year due to COVID-19. The province is posting a $2.4 billion deficit forecast in its 2020-21 budget that was tabled Monday. The revenue forecast for Saskatchewan is $13.6 billion, down $1.

ENGLEFELD — A church on the north side of Englefeld was broken into, with damage done to the interior. Humboldt RCMP said they learned of the break-in on June 13. They said it happened over the course of the last few months. Nothing was stolen.

HUMBOLDT — A walk behind plate tamper worth more than $1,600 was stolen from a vehicle parked at a business on Eighth Avenue in Humboldt. Humboldt RCMP said the theft took place between 7 p.m. on June 12 and 7 a.m. on June 13.

MELFORT — Melfort RCMP are asking for help to identify a woman connected to a shoplifting. The woman entered a business in the 100 block of Main Street in Melfort on May 22 at around 3 p.m.
