The Humboldt Public Art Committee and the Humboldt Community Gathering Place are working together to save a piece of Humboldt history.

What started as an escape from his desk job has turned into Patrick Novecosky preparing for the New York Marathon on Nov. 4. The Burr native, who now lives in Florida, has 80 days to prepare for the over 42 km historic run.

Cut Knife-Turtleford MLA Larry Doke is looking forward to taking on his new role as president of the Pacific NorthWest Economic Region. Doke was elected at the PNWER summit in Spokane, Wash. last month, and will stay in that role for the next year.

HAFFORD — The community of Hafford will be rocking this weekend as organizers host the 10th annual Hafford Summer Sizzle. Activities get underway Saturday morning with the CWL pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. followed by the parade at 10 a.m.

Water Ridge Park will be the home of man’s best friend on Aug. 25, as Dog Day in the Park returns for another year. The annual event, which this year falls one day prior to National Dog Day, is an fundraiser hosted by the Humboldt SPCA.
