TISDALE — The Tisdale Trojans have a lot of work to do this season. The first steps of that work kicked off over the weekend as the Trojans welcomed 52 players to their fall training camp.

There has been a delay in court proceedings for the driver of the semi-truck that collided with the Humboldt Broncos’ team bus. Jaskirat Singh Sidhu’s lawyer, Satnam Aujla, asked the judge on Aug. 21 if court could be adjourned until Oct.

Dr. Warren Huber has been a familiar sight in Humboldt for more than 40 years. Dr. Huber’s hard work in family medicine was rewarded recently, with Huber being named the 2018 Saskatchewan Family Physician of the Year.

Council got their first look at two new additions to city administration at Monday’s council meeting. It was the first council meeting for Randy Patrick as city manager. Patrick has previously served as the city manager in Chestermere, Alta.

TISDALE — The Tisdale Crop Production Services was broken into and a credit card was stolen. The break-in occurred between the night of Aug. 6 to the morning of Aug. 7. There were two locks cut off the gate but no other damage.

NIPAWIN — For two local anglers, a horrible pre-fishing session didn’t continue as they won this year’s Fish for Freedom. Marcy Armstrong and Shelly Hluchaniuk, both from the Nipawin region, caught three walleye with a combined length of 176.

NORTHEAST — There’s been multiple car thefts in the area over this past weekend. One theft happened in Nipawin, one in Arborfield and two in Aylsham.

NIPAWIN — Any cannabis store setting up shop in Nipawin will have to locate 50 metres away from youth-centred and recreational facilities.
