From March 5-7, I was part of a group from Poundmaker Cree Nation that attended the Strengthening and Revitalizing-Indigenous Language and Culture conference in Membertou, at the northern end of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.

Josh McDougall received four out of 17 awards presented at the Nipawin Hawks’ awards banquet, including Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer. He also received the Best Offensive Defenseman and Second Star Overall awards.

Even though marijuana is about to become legal, it’s still a drug that has negative effects on the body. That was the key message at the Truth about Marijuana education forum held at the Golden Age Centre March 4.
