There will be a Street Closure on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16 th at the intersection of 11 th Avenue and 105 th Street. The closure will be from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will be for UPAR work.

Battlefords RCMP responded to 55 calls for service over this time period Wednesday September 13th 6 a.m. – Thursday September 14th 6 a.m., including but not limited to the following: 10:15 a.m. Police called to attempted robbery.

Humboldt was an attractive location to Bill Prokopishin when he started his Humboldt based dental practice in September 1967. Fifty years later, Prokopishin is saying goodbye to Humboldt and saying hello to retirement at the age of 81.

Battlefords Trade and Education Centre Inc. has accepted a donation for a much needed gazebo at their new building. BTEC received a donation of $5,000 from Wawanesa Insurance recently.

In the first of what looks to be an annual occurrence, the Gold Eagle Lodge presented the Battlefords Humane Society with $1,000 on Monday, Aug. 28. The Gold Eagle Lodge held a golf tournament in May at the Jackfish Lodge Golf and Conference Centre.

After the same motion was defeated in the July 17 town council meeting, Battleford is going ahead with a tech upgrade to the Town Hall council chamber.

After a year of disruption due to the Husky oil spill into the North Saskatchewan River, the city is ready to resume regular operations at the F.E. Holliday Water Treatment Plant.
