At 5:30 a.m. today, the water main in front of the Gold Eagle Casino was shut off to repair the service valve to the casino. Water service is aimed to be back on this morning. The Casino will be on a precautionary drinking water advisory.

As temperatures rise, so does your chance of contracting West Nile Virus from the Culex tarsalis mosquitoes that are more active in hot weather. Typically, the mosquitoes that carry West Nile Virus are active from mid-July to the end of August.

RCMP responded to more than 40 calls for service between 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 and 6 a.m. Thursday, June 25. Wednesday • Report of a hit and run at 8:41 a.m. near a residence on the Red Pheasant First Nation.
