North Battleford RCMP responded to more than 25 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25 and Tuesday, Aug. 26.

The 1100 block of 110th street will be closed all day today for patching.

Plans to put up a Holodomor monument in North Battleford have been approved. The monument will be installed in remembrance of those who perished in the 1932-33 Ukraine famine, a famine engineered by the Soviet Union.

The man who rose from humble beginnings in Edam to become clerk of the Privy Council and secretary to the Cabinet has departed that office. Wayne Wouters announced his retirement from that position last week. He had held that position since 2009.

North Battleford City Council intends to continue conversations with CN regarding the noise and movement of hazardous goods "at all hours of the day and night" on the west side of the city.

Street and alley closures have been announced by the City of North Battleford beginning today. The 1100 Block of 110th Street will be closed today from 1 to 5 p.m. for patching.

As of the end of July, the City of North Battleford had issued building permits representing a value of $30.8 million, up substantially from the same period last year.

The City of North Battleford's bookkeeping has been given the nod by its external auditors.
