Word has it that Saskatchewan municipalities will be looking at a decrease in revenue sharing allocations to local government for 2014-15.

In excess of sixty calls for service/occurrences reported to Battlefords RCMP and 22 arrests were made over three day period from 6 a.m., Friday, Dec. 20 to 6 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23.

Battlefords RuralRCMP responded to a fatal two vehicle collision approximately 1.5 kilometres west of Delmas at 3:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20.

Sunday, Dec. 22, WPD Ambulance advanced care paramedics and primary care paramedics responded to a fire standby in the town of Cochin. When WPD paramedic arrived on scene the fire had spread to a neighbouring cabin, consuming both of them.

A shoplifting incident at a North Battleford business on the afternoon of Nov. 23 is still under investigation by RCMP. Police say, sometime between 1 and 2 p.m. that day seven shelves of perfume were stolen from a business on Railway Avenue East.

Battleford town councillor Ames Leslie said Monday an agreement has been made with the Rural Municipality of Battle River that will see the Battleford Fire Department responding to emergencies such as extrications and motor vehicle accidents in 2014.
