The communities of Blaine Lake, Leask and Waldheim with be celebrating their centennial year in 2012. The community of Blaine Lake will be hosting its festivities Aug. 3 to 5 commencing Aug. 3 with registration and social.

Perscription drugs were the target of thieves who broke into the Wilkie Pharmacy early Tuesday. Wilkie RCMP are looking for two individuals and a small, four-door grey car in connection with the break in.

Rolled semi blocking Highway 16

A semi trailer rolled on Highway 16 west near Paynton at approximately 4:45 a.m. today. Maidstone RCMP say the semi truck was proceeding westbound approximately five kilometres west of Paynton, near the Payton Truck Stop when it rolled.
