An intrepid group of walkers from the Langley, B.C. area wrapped up their 2014 Trans Canada Trail in Battleford in mid-July.

One of the hikers, Hayley Pongracz, says as a family, the group has set aside two weeks every year since 2002 to hike a portion of the Trans Canada Trail. When they encountered Jack Golding of North Battleford June 15 near Prince they were on their 126th hiking day, covering a total of 3,132, since 2002.

Golding forwarded an email from Pongracz in which she describes their encounters with people in Saskatchewan after striking out on this year's journey beginning at the Alberta/Saskatchewan border near Onion Lake.

"We have found the people of Saskatchewan have been so amazing. Everyone pulls right over and never before have we had so many people stop to make sure we are okay," she writes.

Pongracz says they walk about 25 kilometres a day and stop for a few short breaks along the way.

In the course of their adventure they have now walked from Victoria, B.C. to Battleford.
