The Battlefords RCMP responded to several calls of intoxicated people in public. Other investigations included one 911 Act call, four false alarm calls, one Child Welfare Act, three Mental Health Acts, One Litter Act, two items lost/found, two persons reported missing, one Fire Prevention Act, three Liquor Acts, 12 traffic related occurrences and eight disturbing the peace/municipal bylaw related occurrences.
The Battlefords RCMP would like to take this opportunity to ask the public to ensure that their belongings such as bicycles, sporting equipment and other items of interest are secured when not in use. Leaving valuables unattended makes “shopping” pretty easy for thieves.
If you have information about these or any other crimes, please contact the Battlefords Detachment of the RCMP at 306-446-1720 or you may call Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), through SaskTel at *8477, or submit a tip online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
RCMP also report that the Kiwanis Club auction of bicycles that had been found and brought into the Battlefords RCMP Detachment throughout the previous year and had not been claimed by their owner raised a profit of $2,450, which will help fund an expansion of the Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon. The Ronald McDonald house provides shelter for the families of sick children that are receiving care at the nearby Royal University Hospital. It has been running at nearly 100 per cent capacity for the past several years and is accepting donations for expansion and renovation.
