A meeting date for citizens living in the Bjorkdale district about the fate of their local school has been set.

It will be held at the Bjorkdale School March 8 at 7 p.m. In the hours before, the North East School Division board will tour the school during teaching hours, meet with the staff and meet with the school community council.

“That’s open to anyone in the Bjorkdale district,” said Don Rempel, the division’s director of education, after a board meeting Feb. 14. “They’ll come and hear information from the board and share information.”

It will then review all of the data it has received over the course of the consultation April 4 and then make a final decision whether to keep the school unchanged, remove some grades or close the school at its regular meeting April 11.
