Blaine Lake farmers' spiel one week away

The 15th Annual Blaine Lake Farmers' Spiel is scheduled to begin Feb. 21. There still may be time to register a rink to qualify at a chance for the many prizes available. Contact the Blaine Lake Community Association office at 497-2222.

The 15th Annual Blaine Lake Farmers' Spiel is scheduled to begin Feb. 21. There still may be time to register a rink to qualify at a chance for the many prizes available. Contact the Blaine Lake Community Association office at 497-2222.

The farmers' spiel banquet will be held Feb. 25. Every year banquet ticket purchasers enjoy a delicious buffet style supper followed by live entertainment. This year, The Saskatoon Soaps will be entertaining the audience with their improv comedy show.

The Blaine Lake and District Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the BLCA to present a live auction of four featured items: a Curtis Glencross Calgary Flames jersey with the crest autographed by the entire 2010/2011 team, a Saskatchewan Roughrider short sleeved jersey autographed by Chris Getzlaff, an Annaheim Ducks jersey autographed by Ryan Getzlaff and an Olympic Hockey jersey autographed by Ryan Getzlaff.

Be sure to visit Blaine Lake Curling Rink from Feb. 21 to 26 to enjoy some exceptional curling. The concession will be open for the duration of the week and offers delicious fast foods items as well as homemade pies and desserts. Come for supper and enjoy the week of skilled curling and friendship.
