Building permits are down in North Battleford not only for the month of April but the year as well.
According to the permit report to the Planning Committee of council Monday, for the first four months of 2016 the city has issued 32 building permits for $4,348,000, compared with 37 permits for $8,832,000 for the same period a year earlier.
In April, 12 permits were issued for $2,185,000, compared with 16 for $2,571,500 for the previous April.
Even though numbers were down from a year earlier, April did see a return to robust building activity in North Battleford.
Among the totals were two dwelling permits for $640,000 and four commercial alteration permits for $924,000. One industrial alteration permit was issued for $600,000.
There were also three residential alterations for $10,500, one new garage permit for $10,000 and one sign for $500.
