Business alarm thwarts break-in

Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 50 complaints betweem Tuesday, Nov. 29 and Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Tuesday, Nov. 29

8:35 a.m. - Police responded to a business alarm on the 300 block of Territorial Drive in North Battleford. Appears to have been an attempt to gain entry via a rear door which activated alarm and perpetrator(s) fled. Some damage to door handle, does not appear that entry was gained.

2:44 p.m. - Break and enter to a residence on the 2100 block of 101st Street in North Battleford. A 48" flat-screen television reported stolen. Believed to have occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and time of complaint.

3:30 p.m. – Black homebuilt trailer with Saskatchewan licence 745 JBT stolen from a residential property on Highway 16 east of North Battleford some time in the last three weeks.  

3:32 p.m. - Report of a break and enter to a business on the 600 block of 103rd Street in North Battleford.

7:49 p.m. - Report of an unwanted and unknown man trying to gain access to a residence on the 1000 block of 110th Street. A 33-year-old man was arrested and is facing two charges of mischief, two charges of failing to comply with probation and one charge of resisting arrest.

9:04 p.m. - Break and enter to a residence on the 800 block of 107th Street in North Battleford sometime during the day. Smart TV reported stolen.

10:29 p.m. - Break and enter to a residence on Jeanne Crescent in Cochin. Believed to have occurred in the early morning hours of Nov. 28. 

11:32 p.m. - Report of an altercation at a residence on the 2400 block of 100th Street. Male subject confronted complainants while in possession of a knife. Fled scene without further incident when confronted by occupants. Subject described as tall and wearing a grey hoodie and was believed to be intoxicated. 

Wednesday, Nov. 30

12:26 a.m. - Report of a sexual assault from two days prior in Battleford. Alleged suspect and victim do know each other. Matter remains under investigation.

Police arrested three persons for alcohol/minor disturbance offences and responded to 12 disturbance calls, four traffic matters, three Child Welfare Act investigations, one bylaw complaint, two minor collisions, five alarms and one Mental Health Act matter.
